Job Description:

Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and a Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire an individual for the position of Assistant Director of Development for the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation (HAF).  This is a 12-month, full-time position.  This position will report directly to the Executive Director for HAF.  Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA and the NCAA.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive.  Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

  • Responsible for securing memberships and donations for the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation, solicitation and stewardship of new members, renewal of current members and fulfillment of donor benefits
  • Develop and coordinate an annual solicitation calendar for HAF and sport specific giving
  • Primary focus will be securing gifts of $1,000 and lower with a goal of assisting in the growth of the HAF donor base
  • Responsible for making 80-100 phone calls per week to secure new and renewed HAF Donors, raffle tickets, and Harbaugh Club tickets
  • Oversee all aspects of the Big Red Raffle including but not limited to: securing new sponsorships, managing ticket inventory, distributing and selling tickets and marketing
  • Manage Harbaugh Club season and single game inventory 
  • Coordinate and plan marketing efforts for HAF utilizing social media, website, and other forms of marketing to increase exposure and giving
  • Serve as the HAF liaison to the WKU Ticket Office and assist in priority ticket sales for football and men's basketball
  • Assist with execution of donor game day and special HAF events
  • Work with the WKU Alumni Association in coordinating activities to promote regional involvement
  • Assist the Executive Director in achieving all annual revenue goals

Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience in Advance donor software along with Archtics/Ticketmaster ticketing system
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills with individuals and groups
  • Must be a goal-oriented person who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office & Outlook
  • The duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed in a competent manner following the highest standards for leadership, professionalism, integrity, accountability, responsibility, cooperation and customer service


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 1 year of experience in customer service 
  • At least 1 year of experience in development or fundraising
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends including football and men's and women's basketball home games
