Chelsey Burk Hired as Deputy AD/Internal Operations

NEWARK, Del. – Chelsey Burk, a collegiate athletics administrator with over 16 years of experience, will join Delaware Athletics, Community & Campus Recreation as Deputy AD, Internal Operations, Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation Chrissi Rawak announced Monday. Burk will assume her role in Newark on April 17.
 
"I'm very excited to welcome Chelsey, her husband Jason and their son Ronan to our Blue Hen family," Rawak said. "Her broad and diverse skill set is a tremendous asset to our department and university.  Chelsey's extensive experiences working with people is impressive and her commitment to creating transformational experiences is second to none.
 
Burk comes to Delaware after a stint with the Atlantic 10. In her role as Assistant Commissioner and Chief Financial Officer, she oversaw the league's financial operations, including budget forecasting and analysis. Additionally, Burk oversaw the conference office IT support and technical operations. A skilled administrator, Burk served as the sport administrator for men's golf during the regular season.

Prior to the Atlantic 10 Burk spent 9 years at William & Mary, where she was the Deputy Athletic Director, serving as a member of the department's executive leadership team providing strategic direction and oversight of department initiatives. This included all financial planning, facility operations, capital projects, human resources, and equipment.  She oversaw the Tribe's $30 million athletic budget. Additionally, she has served as the sport administrator for football, men's basketball, volleyball, women's lacrosse and men's and women's golf. Burk also supervised the financial aspects of multiple athletics facilities, including the beginning stages of a $57 million renovation to Kaplan Arena (basketball/volleyball) and $27 million update for Zable Stadium (football). A member of the William & Mary executive leadership team, she played a crucial role in the negotiation of major contractual agreements.
 
Prior to her tenure in Williamsburg, Burk was the Department of Accounting Program Coordinator at VCU's School of Business. She also served as the Athletics Business Manager at California University of Pennsylvania. She began her career at William & Mary as the Athletics Business Manager. 
 
A former women's golf student-athlete, Burk earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communications Studies from Kansas, and her Master's Degree in Sports Management from California University of Pennsylvania.
 
Chelsey and her husband, Jason, have one son, Ronan.
