Department leadership responsibilities restructured

DENTON, Texas – UNT Vice President and Director of Athletics Jared Mosley announced changes to his executive team as the department prepares to transition to the American Athletic Conference this summer.

Ryan Peck will now serve as Associate Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer. He will maintain oversight of the Mean Green Scholarship Fund, ticketing, licensing, and the partnership with Learfield. Peck, who originally joined the UNT staff in 2016 and previously served as Deputy AD for External Operations, will also now oversee the Mean Green For Life Letterwinners Association.

"As we prepare for our transition to the American Athletic Conference, it was imperative that we think through our executive team structure and align our communication and operations to help us achieve the exciting goals and aspirations we have for UNT Athletics," Mosley said.  "Revenue generation will be a significant piece of our future success and I'm excited to have Ryan step into an elevated role to provide a targeted focus on new strategies to help us increase our alumni and donor engagement.  I feel we have a very talented Executive and Senior Leadership team and look forward to our collective pursuit of Building Champions and Preparing Leaders."

Peck joins the recently announced Dr. Connor Smith in the role of Associate Vice President. Smith also holds the title of Chief Operating Officer with direct oversight of facilities, capital projects, events, sports performance, strategic communications, and marketing.

Smith joined Mosley's staff in January following eight-plus years as Director of Athletics at Dallas Baptist.

Matt Witty will maintain his role as Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director and Chief Financial Officer. He leads UNT's finance, human resources, equipment operations, risk management and IT units while also overseeing game and vendor contracts. He came to UNT originally in May 2017.

Jessie Gardner joined the UNT staff in September 2021. She holds the title of Executive Senior Associate AD for Leadership and Culture Development as well as serving as Senior Woman Administrator. Gardner leads the Leadership and Culture Development, Academic Services, Compliance, DEI and NIL units.

Mosley was named UNT's Vice President and Director of Athletics in December following six-plus years as Associate VP and COO. He previously served as Director of Athletics at Abilene Christian for 10 years from 2004-14.
