PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (March 17, 2023) – Cheri Lindsay ’12 returns to Prairie View A&M University after being named the new head women’s volleyball coach.

Lindsay is an alumna of PVAMU and a former volleyball player who returns to her alma mater after being at the helm of the East Central University Tiger’s volleyball program since the spring of 2020. In her first season with the reins, she guided the Tigers to the Great American Conference Championship tournament, which, prior to 2020, ECU volleyball had not made an appearance since 2013.

Becoming the third head coach in program history, Lindsay was named the Oklahoma Coaches Association “Coach of the Year” for the 2021-22 season. The same season the Tigers had three players named to All-Conference.

Lindsay spent two seasons as the first assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Seattle University, an NCAA Division I team in the Western Athletic Conference. During her time with the Redhawks, the team advanced to the WAC Tournament both years, saw one All-WAC Second Team pick, the 2018 WAC Setter of the Year, and nine Academic All-GAC selections.Before her stint in Seattle, Lindsay was Bethany College’s head coach and assistant athletic director for three seasons. She was also an adjunct professor at Bethany’s School of Business and Athletics.
From 2012-14, Lindsay was an assistant coach at Tiffin University in Ohio. Additional coaching experience includes serving as the head coach for the U15 and U17 Black Swamp Volleyball Club teams.Lindsay got her coaching start at PVAMU, where she served as a student coach from 2011-12. She played volleyball for the Panthers from 2008-11.A native of Denver, Colorado, Lindsay earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications from PVAMU in 2012 and a Master of Business Administration from Tiffin University in 2013.
