Churchill Tabbed Pitching Coach

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Eckerd baseball head coach Josh Beauregard '03 has announced Connor Churchill as pitching coach.

A local talent, Churchill joins the Tritons in preparations for the 2025 campaign from East Lake High School, where he spent three years as the pitching coach, helping guide the Eagles to three postseason appearances and the 2024 district championship.

East Lake posted a 68-15 mark with his time on staff. His pitching staff produced a 1.36 ERA over the 2024 season. He also spent the last five years coaching local travel ball teams in the Bay area.

"We are thrilled to have Connor as our new pitching coach.  He was a phenomenal pitcher throughout his career, with stops at the University of Florida and Sante Fe Community College before finishing his career at the University of South Florida," stated Beauregard. "His knowledge and experience will be a great asset to our team. He coached in the local Top Tier organization and has done a great job as the pitching coach at his alma mater, East Lake High School. He has been praised for his work ethic and character by former players and coaches."

Churchill spent his collegiate career in the Sunshine State, spending his first year at the University of Florida, making six appearances for the Gators in 2018. UF won the SEC regular season championship and made an appearance in the College Baseball World Series.

He spent the 2019 season at Santa Fe College in Gainesville with a 6-4 record and a 2.91 ERA over 65 innings with 62 strikeouts.

He spent his final two seasons at the University of South Florida, appearing in 18 games out of the bullpen with a 1-1 record and 20 strikeouts.

"I couldn't be more excited for the opportunity to be named the new pitching coach at Eckerd College. As we look towards this year and years to come, I am eager to help develop the pitching staff and can't wait to be a positive influence on these young athletes," stated Churchill.

He prepped at East Lake High School and obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences from USF in 2021.
