WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Palm Beach Atlantic head softball coach Ty Singleton has announced that Isabella Hernandez will return to the Sailfish for the 2025 season as an assistant coach. Hernandez played for the Sailfish for the past four seasons as an infielder.

"We are excited to have Bella on board in her new role as graduate assistant coach," said coach Singleton. "She will be responsible for baserunning and working with the infield and outfield.   Bella brings an in-depth understanding of our team culture which will help her as she learns a new role in this program. She showed great diligence as an athlete here at PBA in her ability to work through injury, difficulty, and challenges and come out better and wiser on the other side.  During her time here she grew by leaps and bounds in her capability, and I believe she will be able to come alongside and help the young women on this team grow in the same fashion. Bella loves the game and has a contagious joy when she is out on the field working with the athletes, and we are looking forward to a great year together."

Hernandez played in four seasons for the Sailfish primarily playing second base. She is coming off an impressive senior season in 2024, hitting .265 with a .637 OPS. Leading the team in doubles with seven, she also drove in a team-high 13 runs. She racked up eight multi-hit games and two four-game hit streaks. She also had a .959 fielding percentage.

"PBA softball is so special", said Hernandez. "I am so excited to get to work with this amazing group of girls."

Bella Hernandez looks to improve last year's Sailfish team, which she was a part of, from a tough 15-26 season that was riddled with injuries.
