"I am thrilled to receive the opportunity to work here at St. Lawrence University," said deRuijter. "Working to further an esports program has always seemed like a dream and now, I have been granted the ability to make that a reality for young, determined students seeking something different from the conventional athletic experience. I have high ambitions for what we can bring to the table for the SLU community and know I have the support among the staff and faculty here to achieve those goals. I look forward towards making a difference and following my passion wherever it goes!"
