ROLLA, MO.  –  Anthony Monaco has been named the new head golf coach for Missouri S&T. He has seven years of coaching experience, two in NCAA Division II and five in NCAA Division III.

"We are delighted to announce Coach Monaco as our new golf coach," said Athletic Director Melissa Ringhausen, "With his extensive experience and expertise in collegiate coaching, Anthony is well-equipped to build on the strong foundation of success our golf program has established. We are excited to see how his leadership will drive us toward even greater achievements on the course and in the classroom."

Prior to joining S&T, Monaco served as the Director of Golf for the Division III Maryville College Scots. As director, he operated as head coach for both men's and women's golf programs, becoming the all-time winningest coach in Maryville history in the process. His teams set several program records during his tenure, including a program high national ranking of 27th for their Men's team.

Before his time with Maryville, Monaco was the Head Men's Golf Coach at Urbana University, a Division II program in Urbana, Ohio. He led his student-athletes to success both on and off the course at Urbana, setting program records like highest team finish at the conference tournament and highest individual finish at the conference tournament all while maintaining a team GPA of 3.7. He finished his tenure there as Urbana's second winningest coach in program history.

"I am extremely excited to be joining the Missouri S&T family," said Monaco, "I want to thank Melissa and her staff for believing in me to lead the men's golf program. When my wife and I came out to Rolla for the on-campus interview, we really felt the heartwarming welcome and loved the tight knit community. I'm looking forward to getting on campus to meet the players and build upon the traditions that the former head coach has established. Go Miners!"
