ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ATHLETIC EVENTS & FACILITIES

JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut is accepting applications and nominations for a full-time position of Assistant Director of Athletic Events and Facilities. This individual will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Events and Facilities and will assist in the planning, preparation, and execution of home athletic and special event operations.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: event management oversight for select sports/events; coordination of venue setup and teardown; crowd management; assist with various facility projects and other special projects as assigned. In addition, this individual will assist with the daily support for the operation and upkeep of the various athletic facilities, including work order management and tracking and communication with end users. This position will also assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Events and Facilities in the coordination and execution of assigned Conference and NCAA post-season events.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field; one to two years of relevant experience in collegiate and/or professional event/facility management; demonstrated ability to work independently and identify and resolve problems efficiently and effectively.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in related field; previous NCAA Division I experience in event/facility management; previous experience with coordinating, supervising, and organizing event staff and students; demonstrated knowledge of all applicable Conference and NCAA rules and regulations; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions in a timely and professional manner.

 

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time, permanent position. The incumbent must be able to work evenings and weekends. Relocation assistance is not available. The compensation for this role is $51,344 with benefits.

 

Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
