LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Athletics has initiated the search for a new leader of the men's and women's tennis programs. The department extends its heartfelt gratitude to head coach
John Chiaramonte for his nine years of dedicated service to the student athletes as both a head and assistant coach.
"I will fondly remember the nine years that I have spent at Siena College," said Chiaramonte. "It has truly been an honor and a thrill to coach the men and women of the tennis teams. I have loved every second of it."
Promoted to head coach of the Siena Men's and Women's Tennis programs last June, Chiaramonte helped develop
Oscar Martinez into the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and led the women's team to a MAAC Tournament berth in his lone season at the helm.
"We thank John for his nine years of service to the student athletes in our tennis programs," said Siena College Vice President and Director of Athletics John D'Argenio. "John consistently prioritized the well-being of the athletes, and passionately contributed to their overall experience as Saints."
Chiaramonte previously served as an assistant coach for both programs for eight seasons (2015-23), helping guide the men's team to its first-ever MAAC Tournament Championship in 2023 and the women's squad to its second conference crown in 2021.
Siena Athletics has begun the process of identifying a new head coach to lead the men's and women's tennis programs, and looks forward to finding a new leader to build on the foundation established by Coach Chiaramonte.
