Mark Lapierre enters his 12th year with the Quakers' staff, getting elevated to the role of Interim Head Men's Tennis Coach in August of 2024.

Mark brings familiarity to the team and looks to add depth and continued success to the program after serving the previous 11 years assisting David McCain. During that time, the Guilford College Men's Tennis team made the ODAC Tournament field in all ten seasons in which it occurred, advancing to the conference tournament match in 2017.

As a player, Lapierre played three years at NCAA Division-III Wabash College and one at the University of Aberdeen while studying abroad in Scotland.  While at Wabash College, Mark assisted in coaching the boys' tennis team at Crawfordsville High School in Indiana.  He also ran and assisted clinics in Logansport, Crawfordsville, and West Lafayette, Indiana during his college and veterinary school years. He has continued playing throughout his post-college years in USTA leagues where he has competed on a high level at the local, state, sectional, and national levels.

A 1992 Wabash College graduate, Lapierre later earned his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University in 1996.  He currently owns and runs Northeast Veterinary Hospital in Greensboro. Outside of tennis, Lapierre is an avid animal owner and enthusiast, loves the outdoors and photography, and enjoys sporting events and travel, especially with his two grown children, Sophie and Ryan.
