VanAuken Named Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations

Madison, NJ (October 5)- The FDU-Florham Athletic Department and Director of Athletics Kristin Giotta are excited to name Terry VanAuken to the new role of Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations. She will assume this role effective immediately.

"We are extremely excited to name Terry VanAuken as Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations." Giotta said. "Terry is the heartbeat of this department and the glue that keeps everything together. We congratulate her on this well-deserved promotion and look forward to her collaboration as part of our administrative staff."

VanAuken has been a member of the of Fairleigh Dickinson University family for nine years including the past seven years she has spent as the business manager for the Devils Athletics program. During her role as business manager, she oversaw all aspects of the Devils Athletics' financial expenditures including managing department and team budgets, purchase and expense reports, handling game and official contracts and much more. She is also extremely active in the preparation and production of both the Devils Hall of Fame Ceremonies and Robert T. Shields Golf Outings. Before serving as the Athletics Business Manager, she spent a year as an administrative assistant in the accounting, tax, and law department for the Silberman College of Business.

Before her time at Fairleigh Dickinson University, she spent 17 years as a School Business Administrator/Board Secretary for the Andover Regional School District. While there, she was responsible for financial maintenance for all state and federal grants, including monitoring all aspects of grants, plus grant writing and bid specification development/bidding required for the district.  Also served as an in-house trainer for the district instructing other faculty and staff members on the use of various Microsoft packages.

VanAuken also spent several years at Sussex Technical School as a Grants Manager, Bid Specialist & In-House Trainer as well as serving other roles for the Montague public schools, Stanhope public schools, and Sussex County Community College.
