Moriah Rake Named New Hillcat Dance Head Coach

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Chris Ratcliff announced the hiring of Moriah Rake as the new head coach for the Hillcat Dance program.

"We are excited to have one of our own leading the future of RSU Dance with Moriah Rake returning home as the new head coach of the program," said Ratcliff. "Moriah was an excellent representative of Hillcat Athletics as a student-athlete and we can't wait to see how much she builds the dance program headed into the future."

A native of Owasso, Okla., Rake is natural fit as an alumna of the RSU Dance program. During her time on the Hill, she led RSU as team captain for three seasons and was a decorated performer in her own right placing third in the open hip hop division at Universal Dance Association (UDA) Nationals in 2021. Additionally, she was named Game Day Champion and was recognized for Outstanding Individual Performance at the UDA College Spirit Camp in 2021. Rake was also named the 2021-2022 RSU Dancer of the Year and earned the 2022 RSU Heart of the Hillcat Award.

"Thank you to Dr. Ratcliff and [Associate Athletic Director] Dawn Tatro for this incredible opportunity," said Rake. "To have the chance to lead the program that played such a large part of my dance career is a dream come true!"

In addition to her duties as the head dance coach, Rake also serves as the Color Guard Director for the Collinsville Public Schools.

Rake earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Rogers State in 2022 and is pursuing her master's degree in early childhood education from Northeastern State.
