Lim Named Pack Women's Golf Head Coach

Becomes Just Fourth Head Women's Golf Coach in School History

PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo Vice President of Athletics and Strategic Partnerships Dr. Paul Plinske has announced the hiring of Tammy Lim to be just the fourth head coach of the ThunderWolves' women's golf team in program history.

Lim, who has served as an assistant coach for the ThunderWolves' since 2022, not only becomes just the fourth head coach in the program's 19 year existence, but she is the program's first-ever female head coach.

"I am very honored to be the head women's golf coach here at CSU Pueblo and I want to thank Coach (John Wristen), Jenna (McKinley Fall), Andres (Madrid) and Dr. Paul (Plinske) for entrusting me with the women's golf program. I am super excited and ready to be a part of CSU Pueblo Athletics," Lim said. "The group of girls that are on the women's golf team are motivated to win, especially having an RMAC Championship under our belt. We are ready to win, but also, I am excited to help guide these student-athletes so that they can be prepared for life after college."

The CSU Pueblo women's golf program began in 2005 as Josh Hartman was hired as the program's first-ever coach. Hartman spent four seasons with the Pack, before Greg Dillon took over the reins of the program in 2009. In Dillon's four seasons with the Pack, he took home three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Coach of the Year honors and led the program to it's first-ever RMAC title in 2012 and a berth in the NCAA Regional Championships.

Prior to the start of the 2013-14 season, Dillon stepped down from his position to become the Director of Golf at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo, and then CSU Pueblo Director of Athletics Joe Folda appointed men's coach Josh Koschke as the CSU Pueblo Director of Golf and he also coached both the men's and women's teams.

"Pack golf has an incredible foundation. Josh (Koschke) took what was given to him and elevated it to new heights. He will continue to lead our men's team and build their national brand while working to expand junior golf to the Pueblo community and beyond," Dr. Plinske said. "Tammy and Josh will lead their programs at regional and national competition. We have big aspirations for both, and are excited to watch them excel in their newly defined leadership roles."

Dr. Plinske's goal has always been to have two separate coaches for the men's and women's golf programs and Lim's arrival on campus as Koschke's assistant helped spearhead that change.

"Our strategic plan, #DevelopingChampions was created in 2018 with student-athlete enrichment at the forefront of all of our decision-making. Expanding women's athletics is a critical part of enriching the student-athlete experience. The newly recreated head women's golf coach position is a huge part of this initiative," Dr. Plinske said. "We are honored to name Tammy Lim as our new head women's golf coach. Her background as a collegiate golfer is very strong and admirable, but I'm especially excited about her capacity as a head coach. She is a rising star in the profession who has tireless energy to provide our student-athletes with a first-class experience. I couldn't be prouder of her growth as a professional and am very excited to watch her take this program to new heights."

In her lone season as an assistant with the Pack in 2022-23, Lim helped the program claim its fourth all-time RMAC Championship in school history and first since 2019 and also advance to the NCAA West Regional, where the team recorded an eighth place finish overall. At the 2023 RMAC Championships, senior Kylie Severin (Aurora, Colo./Vista Peak Prep) and junior Zoey Rodriguez (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo South) shared medalist honors.

Prior to coming to CSU Pueblo, Lim was a golf Instructor at Desert Hawk Golf Club in Pueblo, Colo. In her time as an instructor at Desert Hawk, Lim worked with kids from ages five to 17 at a Junior Camp. She taught the kids the basics of the golf swing, putting and chipping.

As a collegiate student-athlete, Lim began her career as a scholarship women's golfer at New Mexico State University in 2017, where she redshirted as a freshman due to an injury. Following her one season at New Mexico State, Lim transferred to Fresno City College in Fresno, Calif., and played on the school's women's golf team. At the 2019 CCCAA State Championship, she finished in third place overall with a total score of 146 (76, 70) for 36 holes.

After her one season at Fresno City College, Lim played two seasons at Missouri Western State University. She played the 2019-20 season for the Griffons and recorded a season scoring average of 78.5, but her next season, 2021-22 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She was named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll in 2021.

The Clovis, Calif., native, earned her bachelor's degree in Business Management from Missouri Western in 2021.
