ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose will celebrate the completion of the R. Mark and Kathleen Sullivan Field renovations with a re-dedication ceremony today at 4:30 pm at the Christian Plumeri Sports Complex.
Sullivan Field, which is located at 20 Frisbie Avenue in Albany, honors former Saint Rose President R Mark Sullivan and his wife Kathleen. As part of the renovation project, Sullivan Field will now feature a new astroturf surface with a colorful sideline layout that includes increased Saint Rose branding. The Golden Knights' men's and women's soccer and lacrosse teams all utilize Sullivan Field as its home facility.
The installation of the new turf and fencing, which was provided in partnership with both the City of Albany and Albany County, marks the first time the playing surface has been fully replaced since the opening of the Plumeri Sports Complex in 2010.
Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, Albany County Executive Dan McCoy, Saint Rose President Marcia White '00, and former President Sullivan are among the expected speakers at the 4:30 pm ribbon-cutting, which will precede the #2 nationally ranked Saint Rose women's soccer matchup against Bloomfield at 6:00 pm.
