Rieger Named Head Coach for Men's and Women's Tennis

Tavis Rieger has been named the St. Lawrence University's men's and women's tennis head coach, as announced by Senior Associate Vice President for Athletics, Bob Durocher.

"I am very pleased to announce the hiring of Tavis Rieger as the men's and women's tennis coach," said Durocher "We had a great pool of candidates, but Tavis stood out with his extensive experience and knowledge of the sport. Not only does he bring a wealth of experience as a coach at a high level, but he has served in roles where he has taught, supported, and advised student-athletes in the past which has made him well-rounded, and the perfect candidate to lead our tennis programs."

Most recently, Rieger served as an Associate Head Coach for men's and women's tennis at Nicholls State University where he also served as the teams' General manager of Player Personnel and Recruiting. In Louisiana, he would implement cohesive training strategies, lead personnel, and prepare operations and facilities for events along with his day-to-day coaching duties.

Prior to his time at Nicholls, Rieger was at the University of Tennessee Southern where he was an Associate Athletic Director as well as the Tennis Director and Head Coach for the men's and women's tennis teams. At UTS, Rieger was tasked with directing logistics, operations, and scheduling along with his coaching duties. Rieger has extensive experience in academics as before his coaching career he has served in roles in academics, admissions, and career advising.

Rieger graduated Cum Laude from Wabash College in 2003 with his Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English and minoring in Economics. Then in 2006, Tavis earned his Masers of Arts degree in Education and Teaching.
