Lindsay Hired as Head Baseball Coach

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus Director of Athletics Erin Stroble announced Monday the hiring of Kyle Lindsay as the new head Baseball Coach. Lindsay comes to Ursinus after recently serving as the head coach for Delaware Valley during the 2022 season.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Lindsay to Ursinus College Athletics," Stroble said.  "We were impressed throughout the interview process by Kyle's enthusiasm for the Division III model, his superior baseball knowledge and his commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the baseball field.  Our baseball program is in good hands!"

In his only season as the head coach of the Aggies, Lindsay led the team to a 15-23 overall record and 4-17 mark in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom play. The 15 wins were the most since the 2017 season and came one season after the team went 3-27 during the 2021 season. Lindsay was the Aggies first full-time coach in the program's history.

Lindsay's coaching career began at his alma mater, Misericordia, where he served as a graduate assistant under head coach Pete Egbert for three seasons from 2017-2019. He helped coach and coached two All-Americans, two MAC Freedom Pitchers of the Year, one MAC Freedom Player of the Year and 21 All-MAC Freedom selections. The Cougars won the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region title to advance to the NCAA Division III College World Series for the first time in program history during Lindsay's second year on the staff in 2018.

Lindsay then joined as an assistant coach on the Arcadia Baseball coaching staff prior to the 2020 season and spent two seasons with the Knights. The team went 5-7 in the shortened 2020 season before advancing to the MAC Freedom Tournament semifinals in 2021.

He replaces Stan Exeter, who spent the past 11 seasons as the Bears head coach.

"I would like to thank Erin Stroble, Kevin Small and the entire hiring committee for providing me the opportunity to lead the Ursinus baseball program," Lindsay said.  "It is evident that the leadership group within the Athletic department takes great pride in being a member of Ursinus College, and more importantly providing their student-athletes with the best overall experience possible.  I am beyond excited to join the UC family and begin working with our student-athletes on and off the field. I want to help them set and achieve their goals, their aspirations for baseball, but more importantly life.   I would also like to thank my wife Jessica and my entire family for their ongoing support of my coaching career.  They are constant reminders of why I can pursue my dream of coaching and leading at the collegiate level.  Without them it would not be possible to call Ursinus College home."

As a student-athlete at Misericordia, Lindsay was a four-year starter for the Cougars and a member of four MAC Freedom championship teams. The Sewell, N.J. native rewrote the Misericordia record books by becoming the Cougars all-time leader in career hits (243), runs scored (189), games played (187) and at bats (685). He also ranks second in career doubles (52), third in total bases (318) and fourth in RBI (133). He was named a D3baseball.com All-American in 2014, a two-time All-Region selection, and three-time All-MAC Freedom selection.

Lindsay graduated from Misericordia in the spring of 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Administration B.B.A in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management  before earning his MBA in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management in 2019.

The Bears finished the 2022 season with a 12-26 overall record and 4-14 mark in Centennial Conference action. Ursinus had two All-Region selections in infielder Solomon Griffith (D3baseball.com and ABCA) and pitcher Casey Murphy (ABCA).
