The University of Michigan gave male athletes $15.7 million in scholarships in the 2021-22 school year. Female athletes got less than $12 million.

That year, UM spent nearly $3.4 million recruiting for men’s sports and less than $772,000 recruiting for women’s sports, according to data the school reported to the federal government.
