Kentucky Wesleyan Launches Panthers Mobile

 
OWENSBORO, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College Department of Athletic Communications has announced the release of its mobile app. Stay connected to your favorite programs with Panthers Mobile the official mobile app of Kentucky Wesleyan College Athletics powered by SIDEARM Sports. Wesleyan is the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference institution to partner with SIDEARM in developing a mobile app. 

"I want to thank Director of Athletic Communication, Joel Krenz, Assistant Director Ken Badylak, our entire staff, and the SIDEARM development team for putting together a great product design," said Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Shook. "Its a privilege to be one of the Division II leaders in this space along with SIDEARM Sports. Its been a record year for Kentucky Wesleyan Athletics and Panthers Mobile will help us showcase our student-athletes even more in the future."
 
Kentucky Wesleyan and SIDEARM Sports have been longtime partners, a relationship that has been on-going for over 15 years. A partnership that started with Sports Information Director Emeritus Roy Pickerill and continues through today Director Athletic Communications Joel Krenz and Assistant Director Ken Badylak. Kentucky Wesleyan is in the year two of a six-year contract extension with SIDEARM Sports. SIDEARM Sports has housed kwcpanthers.com for the duration of that time and today Panther sports are more accessible to our growing fanbase. 
 
"Looking through the analytics from the recent years, 85% of our page views have come from a mobile device," said Director of Athletic Communications Joel Krenz. "The decision to go where the fans are was simple. When we got to the point of extending our contract with SIDEARM it was essential for us to include a mobile app."
 
Featuring real-time news alerts, schedules, exclusive multimedia content, gameday details and more, the new Kentucky Wesleyan College Athletics app is free and compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
 
Through the app, Panthers Mobile fans will enjoy a personalized mobile experience with the ability to manage tickets, shop for official merchandise and receive breaking news and score notifications for the teams they follow.
 
"We appreciate the support of Vice President Mark Shook, Database Administrator Zach Lake, and the number of students that acted as beta testers throughout the process," commented Assistant Director of Athletic Communications Ken Badylak. "SIDEARM is a tremendous product and in our view the gold standard of our industry. We could not be happier with the finished result."
 
The app is designed with a user-friendly interface that integrates with kwcpanthers.com to bring the latest Wesleyan Athletics digital content right to your fingertips. Additionally, it includes links to video and audio streams of live games, in-game stats, and team social media feeds.
 
"This was an important investment by the department and Vice President Shook," continued Krenz. "Highlighting our student-athletes and the good work they are doing is more rewarding now that we can extend our reach and share with a bigger audience."
