Seahawk Club Sets Membership Record

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW Student-Aid Association (Seahawk Club) has shattered its membership record.

The group closed the 2022 membership year with 2,693 members, bettering last year's 1,946 number by 747 members and eclipsing the all-time record of 2,613 set in 2017. The total featured the second largest jump for members over a two-year period. In the last two years, membership has increased by 1,361.

"This past year was a very meaningful one for our staff," said Adam Fearing, executive director. "We took a great first step in 2021 after a low member turnout in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We knew 2022 could be special. Our plan was focused around our supporters taking the next step with us and helping recruit new members. So many decided to help us and we're extremely humbled with the turnout.

"It was truly a group effort. I want to thank the Seahawk Club Board of Directors for their leadership and recognize our Seahawk Club staff of Justin Carson (Associate Director), Jackson Clark (Assistant Director), April Bass (Assistant Director), Mak Timmons (Development Assistant) and Eliza Lewis (Development Assistant)."
