KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Following the September announcement of Citizens Bank & Trust merging with
Southern Bank, the MIAA announced today that Southern Bank will be the presenting sponsor of the
2023 MIAA Men's & Women's Basketball Championship Tournaments. Southern Bank will also continue as the Official Bank of the MIAA. This follows a June announcement by the MIAA and Citizens Bank & Trust where both parties agreed to extend their partnership.
"The MIAA will celebrate 20 years of the conference's basketball championship tournaments being held in Kansas City in 2023," explained Commissioner Mike Racy. "It will be a great opportunity to showcase Southern Bank to the thousands of MIAA fans at this championship. We are grateful for Southern Bank's support and partnership."
The conference tournaments feature the top 10 men's teams and the top 10 women's teams competing for the MIAA's NCAA Tournament automatic bid. The week features 18 games and has produced five NCAA National Championship winning teams in the past five season. In 2022, over 9,000 fans attended the tournament.
The 2023 MIAA Men's & Women's Basketball Championship Tournaments will be held March 1-5 at Municipal Auditorium in downtown Kansas City, Mo.
