TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Name, image and likeness deals have changed the landscape of college sports, and in an effort to remain on the forefront, the University of Alabama unveiled its official NIL entity Thursday morning.

Yea Alabama will serve as the university-approved gateway to connect fans, donors and businesses to Crimson Tide student athletes in order to create mutually beneficial NIL deals.

"Yea Alabama’s approach is both cutting edge and sustainable in an ever-changing NIL environment,” Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne said in a press release. “Having one platform that allows supporters, subscribers and businesses a place to engage is so beneficial. This is another way for every ‘Bama fan to get behind our student-athletes, and we fully support Yea Alabama.”

Like it or not, NIL now affects the way many student athletes choose which schools they want to attend and where they will end up staying, especially in sports like football and basketball.

“I have always believed that our players should have the chance to benefit from their name, image and likeness,” Alabama head football coach Nick Saban said in a press release. “Yea Alabama is an exciting new resource to help Crimson Tide student-athletes create value for themselves through a variety of NIL opportunities. The Alabama brand is one of the most powerful in sports, and our partnership with Yea Alabama provides exposure for our athletes that is unmatched in college athletics.”

There are three tiers of involvement within Yea Alabama that allows fans or businesses to get involved on the NIL Action at Alabama. "The fans" are monthly subscribers who select a specific level of support in exchange for exclusive content throughout the year. "The legends" are those who want to make tax-deductible contributions to the Walk of Champions nonprofit, and "the sponsors" are brands or businesses looking for endorsement opportunities with student-athletes at The University of Alabama.

Within "the fans" tier, there are going to be four levels of giving that can be done monthly or annually and come with benefits like exclusive content and access to events and the opportunity to purchase unique merchandise.

According to UA, 100 percent of subscription fees generated through Yea Alabama will go directly to Crimson Tide athletes.
