LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University Athletics Director Drew Watson announced this afternoon that women's basketball coach Brian Neal has resigned his position to accept another opportunity.
"Brian is a valued member of our staff and did a tremendous job in his one season in Lakeland," said Watson. "But family is more important than any job and I applaud Brian for making the right decision for his. I wish Brian, Amy, and their kids the very best."
In his lone season with the Fire, Neal led one of the biggest win total turnarounds in the NAIA with a 22-8 overall record and went 11-3 in Sun Conference play to claim the league's regular season title. The Fire also won the conference tournament title to return to the NAIA National Tournament.
A national search for Neal's replacement will begin immediately.
