INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The West Virginia State University Department of Athletics announced a partnership with Influxer on Thursday, giving the nearly 350 WVSU student-athletes an avenue to monetize their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Influxer has partnered with more than 250 colleges and universities throughout the country to create an opportunity for student-athletes to benefit from their personal brand with high-quality, customized gear.

"West Virginia State University is proud to be at the forefront of offering NIL opportunities to our student-athletes through this partnership with Influxer," said Director of Athletics Nate Burton. "WVSU is the first full member institution in the Mountain East Conference and the second Division II school in our region to partner with Influxer. This partnership will empower our student-athletes by allowing them to grow their personal brands while learning how to navigate the NIL landscape present in college athletics."

Each student-athlete will be able to create their own webpage linked to West Virginia State's online store. Influxer works with student-athletes to personalize co-licensed products and oversees fulfillment of orders as well as payment processing. An easy-to-use mobile app allows student-athletes to apply to marketing campaigns, post deliverables, and conveniently receive payment after completing deals.

Influxer provides training and handles tax documents to assist student-athletes in their NIL journey. Sales through Influxer benefit both the individual student-athlete and the Athletics Department through a mutual licensing agreement. Deals through Influxer are non-exclusive, allowing student-athletes to pursue other NIL opportunities as well.
