WINONA, Minn. — On Monday, Feb. 26, Saint Mary's University head women's basketball coach David Foley stepped down after six seasons at the helm, as announced by Saint Mary's Athletic Director Brian Sisson.
Â
"David's leadership and passion has impacted the lives of many women's basketball student-athletes throughout his time as coach," Sisson said. "We're thankful for all he has done for our student-athletes and university and wish him well."
Â
During his tenure, the women's basketball program compiled a 39-93 overall record, including a 30-76 mark in conference play.
Â
"It's been an honor to coach amazing student-athletes who are overall wonderful individuals and to have a positive impact on their lives," said Foley. "I'm proud of my time as coach of the Cardinals, and have many great memories that I will carry with me."
Â
Saint Mary's will begin a national search for Foley's successor immediately.
Â
"We look forward to finding a coach who will move the Saint Mary's women's basketball program forward and assist in the overall development of our student-athletes" said Sisson.
