NACMA Partners with Old Hat Creative on Brand Initiative

CLEVELAND - The National Association for Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA), has partnered with Old Hat Creative on a strategic brand initiative. This exercise was aimed to enhance NACMA's image on all platforms while preserving the integrity of the organization's logo. Old Hat's expertise in visual storytelling, coupled with their deep understanding of NACMA's mission, was instrumental in driving this process. 
 
"As a board, we feel strongly that NACMA's brand identity is viewed on all of our platforms as best in class," said Brad Wurthman, NACMA President and Executive Associate Athletics Director, External Affairs and Advancement at Virginia Tech." Partnering with Old Hat Creative, a trusted partner to NACMA, on this important project led to exceptional results that will resonate with our membership." 
 
Old Hat Creative's leadership group drove the process which began with a discovery period that included a listening session with a subset of the NACMA Board of Directors and a survey completed by the full NACMA Board. Once the discovery period was completed, the design team at Old Hat began to work on the creative assets. 
 
"Considering our near 20-year relationship with NACMA, we were honored to be approached to help elevate the brand of an organization that has been so great to us," said Zac Logsdon, Founder/CEO of Old Hat. "The board was phenomenal to work with and we look forward to the rollout of the redeveloped brand to the membership."
 
The conclusion of the process, once reviewed and approved by the NACMA Officers and Board of Directors included: 

  • The addition of platinum to the NACMA logo, replacing the gold that was used previously
  • Standardized primary and secondary logos 
  • Standardized color palette 
  • New creative to use on web, social, print etc.
  • A standardized typeface
  • A brand guide to support all assets to ensure consistency
