Bornholdt Hired as Assistant AD for Development

VERMILLION, S.D. – University of South Dakota Director of Athletics Jon Schemmel is thrilled to announce the hiring of Logan Bornholdt as the new Assistant AD for Development.

"I am very excited to bring Logan to Vermillion and be part of the future of Coyote Athletics," said Schemmel.  "She is a former student-athlete, coach, and a true South Dakotan. What she accomplished in our time together at DSU was unbelievable and I am confident she will bring the same energy and enthusiasm to Coyote nation, our donors and fans, locally and across the country!"

Bornholdt comes to USD after spending the last three years at Dakota State University, where she served as the Assistant AD for Development.  At DSU she played a pivotal role in the 250 million dollar "Trojans Unite" Campaign.  She also spearheaded the Trojans Athletics Club where she oversaw the restructuring of the club and its benefits, established the first Athetics Committee, and managed all athletics funds events.  In addition to her development duties, she was responsible for athletics sponsorships.  Before starting at DSU in 2021, Bornholdt also did a two-year stint as the Assistant Director of Annual & Athletic Giving at Mount Marty University in Yankton.

"My family and I are thrilled to be joining the USD and Vermillion community," said Bornholdt.  "We are so grateful to be a part of Yote Nation under the leadership of AD Schemmel and to have the opportunity to serve the student-athletes, coaches, alumni, and friends of USD. Go Yotes! "

A 2017 graduate of Mount Marty, Bornholdt was a student-athlete for the Lancers.  After graduation she served as a graduate assistant golf coach for Concordia University in Nebraska while earning her Master's degree.  From there she served as an assistant basketball coach, and head golf coach, at Mount Marty before embarking on her development and fundraising career.

Bornholdt will begin her role at USD in May.
