Chestnut Hill College Director of Athletics Jesse Balcer is proud to announce the hiring of Jesse Zafiratos as the institution's next Head Men's Soccer Coach.

Zafiratos comes to Chestnut Hill after one year as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Cedar Crest college  where he compiled an impressive 12-4-2  record.  He takes over from David Castellanos, who left the program to become the head coach at division I Drexel University.  Zafiratos becomes the ninth head men's soccer coach in the history of the Chestnut Hill college men's soccer program which dates back to 2004.

"I am honored and grateful for this opportunity to lead Chestnut Hill as the next Head Coach of the Men's Soccer program," Zafiratos said. "I want to thank Jesse Balcer, the search committee, and the student athletes for entrusting me with this responsibility. I will work tirelessly to not only continue this program forward, but to push the boundaries of what this program can become and achieve."

In his only season at Cedar Crest, Zafiratos was named the 2022 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Women's Soccer Coach of the Year guiding the Falcons to the CSAC Regular season title and going undefeated in conference play (8-0-1)

Prior to Cedar Crest, Zafiratos spent one season at the helm of the Hood College men's soccer program, leading the team to the most wins for a first-year head coach in program history with eight.

Zafiratos also spent two years as the head men's soccer coach at Rosemont College. In 2019, he took over a team that hadn't made the playoffs in seven years and guided the Ravens to the conference championship game and doubled Rosemont's win total from the year before.

Prior to his stop at Rosemont, Zafiratos turned in an impressive three-year run as the head men's soccer coach at Penn State Brandywine from 2016-18, culminating in the Lions' first United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Championship. He compiled a 50-10-3 overall record, including a perfect 27-0 in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) and three straight conference titles. His 2018 team won a school record 16 straight games and upset No. 1 ranked Johnson and Wales University (N.C.), 1-0 in overtime to win the department's only national championship

In six seasons as a collegiate head soccer coach, both men and women, Zafiratos compiled an impressive 77-33-8 record.

Before taking over the program at Penn State Brandywine, he spent four seasons as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Widener University. Zafiratos helped the team increase its win total each season, including a berth in the ECAC South Region Semifinals in 2014.

"My vision for the Chestnut Hill Men's Soccer program moving forward is fairly simple, to win soccer games and compete for a CACC playoff berth in year one, " adds Zafiratos. "My coaching style will be direct and player centered, with us getting the best version and maximum effort out of our student athletes both on the field and in the classroom."

Zafiratos begins his stint as Chestnut Hill's Head Men's Soccer Coach on February 19.
