Chestnut Hill College Director of Athletics and Recreation Jesse Balcer is proud to announce the hiring of Brandon Johnson as the institutions next Head Women's Volleyball Coach.

Johnson, an assistant last season under former head coach Tim Moyer, becomes the 21st Head coach in the 50-year history of the women's volleyball program.

"I am thrilled to be returning to the program as the team's head coach," said Johnson.   "I have loved being a part of the program the past few years under Coach Moyer, so when the opportunity came open it was a no brainer."

Last season, Johnson returned to the Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball coaching staff as an assistant coach, having previously served as in the same capacity from 2018-2021.

"Having been with the Chestnut Hill program since 2018, I am thrilled to keep building on the program's success from this past season, "adds Johnson.  "With a strong core of young players and key returning upperclassmen, I am really truly excited for the opportunity to take the program to the next level in competing for a CACC Title."

Johnson  served as the head coach at Pennridge High School from 2016-2022, where his team won a conference championship in 2020 with an undefeated regular season.   He  is also the founder and Club Director for Pinnacle Volleyball Academy located in Hatfield, Pennsylvania.

Beginning his volleyball coaching career in 2009, Johnson held varsity and junior varsity head coaching roles between both the Central Dauphin East Girls and Boys volleyball programs (2009-2013). Then, he transitioned into a head coach position for the 16's Club volleyball team (2014-2018) while also supervising the C.B. South Girls (2015) volleyball program.

As a player, Johnson was a four-year varsity setter and defensive specialist at Pennridge High School and started three of those years. At the collegiate level, he was a four-year starter with the Shippensburg Men's Volleyball Club Team.  He started three seasons as a libero and one season as a setter for the club team.

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team went 14-14 last season and finished second in the Central Atlantic Collegiate conference South division with an 11-5 record.  The team won its first ever CACC tournament game and advanced to the tournament semi-finals before losing to eventual conference champion, the University of Bridgeport.
