Tighten Up Throttle Down Collective announced

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.—Westminster College and the Department of Athletics are honored to have the support of a new Collective, Tighten Up Throttle Down, whose mission is to help Titan student-athletes navigate the ever-changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics while developing all aspects of the student-athlete experience.

"Tighten Up Throttle Down is proud to become the Official NIL Collective of Westminster Titans Athletics," said Louis M. Perrotta, Esquire, Westminster Class of 1994 and member of the Titan Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2006. "This Collective will assist Westminster student-athletes harness name, image, and likeness opportunities by building their brands and raising their profiles at a championship level. It is our goal to position Westminster Athletics – and all its sports – for sustainable growth and success. As NIL changes college athletics, we are proud to take the next step in making sure Titan student-athletes remain at the forefront of this ever-evolving space."

Over the past two years, the emergence of Name, Image and Likeness (often referred to as NIL) has provided student-athletes across the country with opportunities to receive compensation for endorsements, appearances, conducting camps and clinics, and other activities. Westminster announced its partnership with MOGL, the leading athlete marketplace and operations software provider powering the NIL era of collegiate athletics, as the exclusive NIL solution for its student-athletes on Oct. 25, 2023.

"Westminster College takes tremendous pride in our rich history, heritage, and traditions of academic and athletic achievement. To continue attracting the best and brightest future Titans, we are committed to providing a transformational experience and the best resources possible for our student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Jason Lener. "Today's NIL Collective announcement, along with our MOGL partnership, is evidence that we are fully committed to providing our student-athletes with NIL opportunities that no other Presidents' Athletic Conference school is offering. We are excited that our current and future students will have the ability to maximize their value as part of the Westminster Titan family."

The Tighten Up Throttle Down Collective, operating outside of any formal control of the College, will provide compensation to students that is not an inducement to enroll or continue matriculation, nor is it based on playing time or performance. Rather, the concept is for Westminster alumni and fans to collectively resource funds together in a common pool that pays out for legitimate opportunities for student-athletes to perform duties based on the popularity of their NIL.

The Tighten Up Throttle Down Collective is bound by all applicable NCAA, Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), and Pennsylvania rules and regulations.
