TROY, Ala. – Troy Athletics unveiled the largest videoboards in the Sun Belt Conference at Riddle-Pace Field and the Troy Softball Complex the past two weeks as the Troy Baseball and Softball seasons got underway.

"We always strive to improve and enhance the gameday experience across all our venues to provide the best possible environment for our fans and student-athletes," Troy Director of Athletics Brent Jones said. "The new videoboards at Riddle-Pace Field and the Troy Softball Complex are the largest in the Sun Belt Conference and add a new and impressive dimension to the fan and student-athlete experience for Troy Baseball and Troy Softball. I am extremely appreciative of the support from Chancellor Hawkins and our fans to make this a reality."

Riddle-Pace Field System Details
Riddle-Pace Field received a new outfield LED video display measuring more than 21 feet high by nearly 71 feet wide. It features a 15HD pixel layout to deliver crisp, clear imagery with wide-angle visibility to appeal to fans in every seat. It also features industry-leading environmental protection, ensuring it operates as expected in the Alabama weather.

Integrated into the video and scoring system is a Sportsound® 1500HD audio system in center field within the backdrop of the batter's eye. It supplements live events with a booming audio experience. It delivers full-range sound reproduction while providing clear, intelligible speech from announcers.

Additionally, the stadium received a time-of-day clock, a pitch clock and a speed-of-pitch display flush mounted into the wall to the left and right of the video display.

"The new scoreboard at Riddle-Pace Field is another game changer we are proud to showcase," Troy Baseball head coach Skylar Meade said. "I am so thankful to our leadership at Troy from The Hawkins family, Brent Jones, Mike Frigge, and so many others who have worked countless months and years to make this dream a reality. It was a true joy to see the look on our fans' faces when they saw this board on full display this past weekend."

Similar to baseball, the Troy Softball Complex received a new LED display featuring a 15HD pixel layout. This display measures more than 15 feet high by nearly 28 feet wide and comes with all the same video and display capabilities as the display at Riddle-Pace Field.

"We are so incredibly grateful and excited about the new videoboard at the softball field; it is absolutely first class," Troy Softball head coach Eric Newell said. "I want to personally thank Chancellor Hawkins and Brent Jones for the intentional commitment to make this happen. The videoboard will be loved by the fans and players alike, and I can't wait to begin talking about it with future recruits."

"This installation will bring a new excitement to Troy Athletics for baseball and softball in 2024," Glen Marts, Daktronics sales representative, said. "It's an absolute privilege to continue our long-standing partnership with Troy University, and we're looking forward to seeing the excitement for fans and student-athletes alike as the seasons get underway in a few short weeks."

Both LED video displays are capable of variable content zoning, allowing each to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics and game information, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
