WASHINGTON – Gallaudet University has canceled its 2024 baseball season due to a depleted roster. The Bison were hopeful to add enough players to make the season happen but it was evident during preseason practices that the numbers were not there to safely field an adequate team.

"This was a very difficult decision and one that was not made lightly. However, the safety, health and well-being of our student-athletes is most important. It would not have been right to force a small number of players to play a competitive schedule this season," said Athletic Director Warren Keller.

The decision to cancel the season before play begins provides United East and non-conference opponents clarity on where the Gallaudet baseball program stands.

GU will use the extra time to focus on supporting the current student-athletes that are a part of the baseball program along with recruiting future Bison baseball student-athletes.
