CCNY Names Nick Diunte Head Men's Volleyball Coach

New York, NY - The City College of New York Interim Director of Athletics Steve Macias has named Nick Diunte head coach of CCNY's men's volleyball program ahead of the 2024 season. 

"I am excited to join the CCNY athletics staff after working adjacent to the program for the past 15 years, said Diunte." "I look forward to carrying on the rich tradition of athletic and academic success with CCNY's men's volleyball program."

Diunte has served as the head boys' volleyball coach at the High School for Math, Science, and Engineering at CCNY since 2009. In his 15 years leading the program, he has guided the Dragons to multiple playoff appearances, including an undefeated season and the PSAL Manhattan A Division Championship in 2019.

In addition, Diunte also serves as the Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher at the High School for Math, Science, and Engineering at CCNY, overseeing the Drangons' physical education and athletic programs.

Diunte also served as a volunteer assistant coach with CCNY's baseball for one season (2008-09).

A CUNY graduate and former student-athlete, Diunte earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Queens College. While at Queens, he played baseball for the Knights and was named Student-Athlete of the Year in his senior season. He earned his master's degree in Kinesiology from Temple University.
