(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Athletics is excited to announce a new partnership with Opendorse, a leading name, image and likeness (NIL) technology company.
Â
With the launching of the PLNU Marketplace through Opendorse, Sea Lions student-athletes will be able to more easily connect with businesses about potential NIL deals.
Â
"We are extremely excited to partner with Opendorse to provide a platform for our student-athletes that will allow them to control and take advantage of opportunities to utilize their name, image, and likeness for a variety of reasons," Senior Associate Athletic Director Brian Thornton said. "We are always looking for ways to enhance our student-athlete experience and developing a NIL marketplace was a great opportunity for us to do just that."
Â
On Monday, PLNU student-athletes will be invited to sign up for a personalized account, which they can customize with photos and information about themselves, while listing what type of NIL deals they are interested in securing.
Â
The Sea Lions who create accounts will be able to directly respond to potential NIL inquiries and will also receive access to NIL educational materials.
Â
"Giving PLNU student-athletes a place to generate additional income, lend their support to charities and non-profits, and expand their influence alongside over 100,000 other professional and collegiate athletes from every level is something we are thrilled to be able to do," Thornton said.

Point Loma is the first known PacWest Conference school to partner with Opendorse.
