DBU's Pinson Named Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine

DBU Athletics is proud to announce Courtney Pinson as the program's new Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine. Pinson has previously served the past six years as DBU's Head Women's Athletic Trainer and serves as the Senior Woman Administrator for Patriot Athletics.
 
"We are so excited to announce Courtney Pinson as Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine," said DBU Director of Athletics Matt Duce. "Courtney has proven herself to be a capable and dynamic leader and I believe she will positively impact the DBU Athletics Department in innumerable ways in the days ahead."
 
Pinson is a 2015 DBU graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. In 2017, she received a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. While in Lubbock, she gained sports medicine experience working with high schools, NCAA Division I and II collegiate athletics, professional/Olympic athletes, and special populations within clinical outpatient settings.
 
"I have full confidence in Courtney," Senior Vice President Jonathan Teat said. "Her commitment to Christ, to DBU, and to being exceptional in every way has already left an indelible mark on the lives of hundreds of Patriot student-athletes. We are blessed to welcome her into this newly expanded leadership role."

Pinson is an active member in National Athletic Trainers' Association and has certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), obtains her M1 Graston Technique certification, and is a certified L-1 Dry Needling provider through Structure & Function.

"I am also thankful that Courtney will continue in her role as Senior Woman Administrator while building on an already established standard of excellent sports medical care," shared Duce. "Courtney embodies the very characteristics we seek to develop within our Patriot student-athletes through her strong Christian commitment and her humble servant leadership."
