Jenna Meligan Hired as Volleyball Head Coach

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 1st, 2024

Portland, Ore.| The Warner Pacific Athletic Department is proud to announce the hiring of Jenna Meligan who will be the new head coach of our women's volleyball team for the 2024 season.

Meligan is a graduate of local Lakeridge High School and was a two time 1st team All-League selection while being a Pacer. After high school, she competed for four years at California Lutheran University. Meligan and her team were very successful going as far as making it to the Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament. While playing at a high level in college, Meligan was also coaching one of the top junior club volleyball programs in Southern California.

"I am excited to have Jenna join us here at WP," Athletic Director Matt Gregg said. "She is very professional, understands the conference, and is going to place a high standard on performance. We look forward to this next season with Jenna at the helm."

Meligan's professional coaching career started when she took the head coaching job at Wilson High School when she was 24 years old. Meligan's team hit the ground running taking her team to the PIL League Championship before starting her juniors club in Portland, Oregon called the Agape Volleyball Club. In her third year at Wilson, Meligan's team saw their first trip to the 6A State Playoffs for the first time in the school's history.

After three seasons with Wilson High School, Multnomah University hired Meligan as their first NAIA head women's coach. During her time with the Lions, Meligan led her team to their first victory over a NAIA top 10 opponent in 2018, first to beat an NCAA DII team in 2019, had the most players of any team at Multnomah to make Academic All-Conference, and had the highest team GPA out of the entire school.

Meligan has a very busy life outside of volleyball as a school councilor using her psychology degree. She also enjoys interior design and owns and operates an interior design and home staging company called Agape Home Co.

Meligan will be taking over a program that has struggled in the past few years including last season when the team went 2-27 and had a late season coaching shift.

"What excites me about coaching at WPU is that there is so much room for growth and improvement," Meligan said. "I love the challenge of growing a program and competing in one of the best NAIA conferences in the nation."
