Limestone Adds Unger as Assistant AD for Compliance

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Deputy Athletic Director for Compliance Dennis Bloomer and the Limestone University Athletic Department have announced that Deanna Unger has joined the compliance staff as of January 22, 2024.

Unger, who previously served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Spartanburg Methodist College over the last four years, will assume the same role with the Saints. During her time with the Pioneers, Unger oversaw all aspects of compliance while cultivating relationships with campus partners in the office of admission, faculty athletic representative, registrar's office, and academic advisors to monitor the eligibility of all student-athletes.

"I am very honored to accept the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance here at Limestone University," said Unger. "Limestone is a special place and I couldn't be more excited to work with the solid foundation of coaches here at The Rock. I would like to thank Hailey Martin and Dennis Bloomer for giving me this opportunity to be a part of a phenomenal athletic department."

In addition, Unger assisted in administration duties and provided support for all programs throughout the department. She also served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) advisor, oversaw game day operations, and was the campus Title IX Coordinator.

In her academic background, Unger earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters in Management in Professional Leadership from Converse University before obtaining an Associate of Science Degree from Spartanburg Methodist. She was also a student-athlete for both the Valkyries and Pioneers, playing on the volleyball team.
