LEBANON, Ill. – McKendree University Director of Athletics Anthony Francis is pleased to announce a key promotion within the department. Nickie Sanlin has earned the promotion to Assistant Athletic Director, Director of Volleyball, Head Men's Volleyball Coach, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Designee.

"I'm thankful to Anthony (Francis) and the administration here at McKendree for giving me the opportunity to serve not only the volleyball student athletes, but the McKendree athletic community in an administration role," said Sanlin. "From when I first set foot on McKendree's campus in 2012, I knew it was a special place and a community where I am afforded the chance to grow personally and professionally.  I am excited to be a part of the vision Anthony has set for the department and have the ability to make an impact on an institution I call home."

On top of her men's volleyball duties, Sanlin will join the McKendree Senior Administration team. She will also oversee our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee to help promote and organize different events on campus.

"For the Past 10 years, Coach Sanlin has been the Head Coach for both the women's and men's programs.  During that time, both programs performed at a level that would only be possible because of Nickie's commitment and dedication to running a quality program, explained Francis. "I am excited to help Nickie transition into her new role and provide an opportunity for her to grow administratively and professionally.  We are fortunate to have Nickie at this University."

A national search for the next Bearcat Women's Volleyball head coach was conducted and more information will be released next week.
