HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College Athletic Director Charlie Gross has announced the hiring of Faith Edmister to be the Head Coach of Carroll's newest sponsored sport, Competitive Dance.

Edmister is a Montana native, originally from Great Falls, where she was a four-year member of the Great Falls High School cheer team. She is a recent graduate of the University of Montana where she was a member of the Grizzly Dance team for four years. Both of Edmister's parents are Carroll alumni, and the institution has a place near to her heart.

"Faith's experience as a classically trained dancer and her role as a member of the Grizzly dance team will prove valuable as she lays the foundation for the Dance program at Carroll." Said Gross. "Her excitement and enthusiasm about leading our Competitive Dance team is contagious and will be a key to her success in attracting the first class of dancers."

Edmister has an extensive background in the dance community. She has been a dancer since the age of three, with over 15 years of competitive dance experience, both on a local and state level, as well as on a national scale.

A four-year member of the Grizzly Dance team, Edminster graduated from the University of Montana with an MBA in the Spring of 2023. This past Fall, Edmister assisted with the Grizzly Dance team's choreography for in-game performances at Montana football games.

"I am honored and excited to be named the first Competitive Dance Coach at Carroll College." Said Edmister. "I can't wait to share my passion for dance by stepping into this coaching role. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for collegiate dancers in our state and the region, and I eagerly look forward to seeing all of the talent these athletes have to offer. I am so excited to contribute to the rich legacy of excellence at Carroll, and work with such an awesome and committed Athletic Department!"

In addition to her choreography for Montana, Edmister has ample experience with dance instruction, having worked as an instructor throughout high school and college.

The Carroll Dance team will be on the sidelines at Carroll Athletic home contests, and will compete on a regional and national scale at a number of NAIA-sanctioned events throughout the winter months, beginning in 2024.

Recruitment for the upcoming season has already begun, and scholarship opportunities are available to interested High School students for next year.

Edmister will be at a number of in-state and regional competitions, and will begin making contact with Montana High School coaches and studios immediately.
