Andre Foster Hired To Lead Nichols Men's & Women's Volleyball Programs

DUDLEY, Mass. (11/27/23)   The Nichols College Division of Athletics and Vice President and Director of Athletics Jack Hayes, have announced the hiring of Andre Foster as the new head men's and women's volleyball coach. Foster joins the Bison from Xavier University where he served as an assistant coach from 2022-23.

"We are excited to have Andre Foster return to Nichols College as our head volleyball coach", said Hayes. "His passion for the game, his experience on both the men's and women's side, and his knowledge of Nichols made him the ideal choice to lead the programs."

During his two seasons with Xavier University, Foster helped guide the Musketeers to a 39-24 record. In 2022, Foster was the recipient of the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year award, while Xavier earned a third-place BIG EAST regular season finish, a third place BIG EAST Tournament finish, and a trip to the NIVC Quarterfinals.

Foster was one of a select few up-and-coming coaches to receive the 2022 AVCA Diversity Award, which was established by the American Volleyball Coaches Association in 2015 to provide an opportunity for young coaches to attend the AVCA Convention and attend seminars to build personal and professional relationships to grow the sport.

Foster spent two seasons as a middle blocker for the Nichols College program (2018-20) after transferring from Mount Ida College.  During his time with the Bison, he appeared in 42 career matches and 130 sets, compiling a stat line of 151 kills, 41 service aces, 76 digs and 55 blocks. Academically, Foster received a bachelor's degree in sport management and a master's degree in business administration from Nichols.

"I would like to express my gratitude to Nichols College, my Alma Matter for believing in me and granting me the opportunity to lead the Bison volleyball programs," Foster said. "I look forward to returning and starting a new chapter at Nichols, and helping the programs grow to the best of my ability."
