Rockhurst’s Mabry Named NCAA DII SAAC Chair

KANSAS CITY – Rockhurst's Dani Mabry was elected chair of the Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee during the NCAA Convention last week in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mabry, a graduate student on the women's lacrosse team, served as the Great Lakes Valley Conference's representative on DII SAAC last year. She will serve a one-year term as the committee's chair.

The DII SAAC Committee is made up of 25 student-athletes representing each DII conference and two at-large representatives.

"The chair serves as a facilitator and an amplifier of the voices of our student-athletes on our committee," Mabry said. "I am looking forward to the opportunities that come along with that and to be able to make more connections across the Division II membership."

The committee will meet four times this year with the next in-person meeting taking place in July at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis.

"We are so proud of Dani's leadership at our institution, conference, and now at the national level," said RU Director of Athletics Kristy Bayer. "DII SAAC has chosen a competent and thoughtful leader who truly embodies the mission of the DII membership and its student-athletes.

"The voice of our DII student-athletes is paramount to the operation of intercollegiate athletics. Dani will do a fabulous job representing the DII student-athletes and helping to make important decisions about the future of DII."
