Amanda Fefel designated SWA for Eastern New Mexico University

Third-year head coach will serve as senior woman administrator (SWA) for Greyhounds

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico interim director of athletics Michael Molina has designated head softball coach Amanda Fefel as the department's senior woman administrator (SWA).

Fefel is in her third season with the Greyhounds after being hired in the summer of 2021.

She guided ENMU to its first postseason win since 2001 during the 2023 campaign. She has coached five all-conference players and has won 44 games at the helm.

"I am excited to take on the roll as the Senior Women Administrator within our athletic department," said Fefel when asked about the news. "I look forward to serving as a role model and resource for our student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. I hope to bring an inclusive culture that will create a well-rounded environment for our athletic department, campus, and community."

The role of SWA began in 1981 when the NCAA membership voted to promote meaningful representation of women in leadership and management of college sports.

The Baltimore, Maryland native will represent Eastern New Mexico at the national and conference level with this new designation.

Fefel is set for her third season leading the softball program. They bring in 13 new players and begin the 2024 campaign versus CSU-Pueblo, February 2.
