CHANGES IN BHSU ATHLETICS’ LEADERSHIP

SPEARFISH, S.D.  – Black Hills State University Director of Athletics Scott Larson has resigned from his post effective Jan. 5. Larson cited personal and family issues as reasons for departure.

Head women's basketball coach Mark Nore will step in as the Interim Director of Athletics and continue to coach through the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

"We appreciate the guidance Scott provided during his tenure in Spearfish," BHSU President Steve Elliott said. "We now look forward to leaning into Coach Nore's loyalty, dedication, and passion he has provided to BHSU Athletics for over 20 years."

Nore is the all-time wins leader in Black Hills State women's basketball history since taking over the program during the 2002-03 season. He received his bachelor's degree in physical education and special education from BHSU in 1999 and earned his Master of Science with an emphasis in Physical Education at Southwest Minnesota State in 2002.
