Andrews to Return as Foresters' Head Men's Soccer Coach, Dean Headed to Elmhurst

12/22/2023 4:00:00 PM

Lake Forest College Director of Athletics Nicki Pieart recently announced that Dan Andrews will soon be returning to his position as the Foresters' head men's soccer coach after a year away from the program. It was also announced that Tim Dean, the team's interim head coach in 2023, will become the next head coach at Elmhurst University.

Under Andrews' leadership, Lake Forest posted a 71-60-8 overall record and a 45-15-2 mark in Midwest Conference play from 2015-22. He took the Foresters to the NCAA Division III Tournament three times and captured a pair of regular season league titles during that span. Players on the team earned 32 All-MWC accolades, three MWC Offensive or Defensive Player of the Year honors, and seven all-region distinctions during that time. They were also named Academic All-MWC 107 times.

A four-year player at Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, Andrews originally came to Lake Forest after three seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater. He also served as an assistant for the Foresters in 2014 before taking over as head coach.

After seven years as an assistant to Andrews, Dean was named the team's interim head coach last winter and led Lake Forest to a 3-1-4 record in conference play this fall and for the second year in a row, the Foresters won the MWC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

"I am excited to welcome Coach Andrews back to the College," began Pieart. "The Foresters have experienced a great deal of success under his direction, and I look forward to the program continuing to perform as a high level, both on and off the field, in the future. I also want to thank and congratulate Coach Dean for the team's accomplishments in 2023 and wish him well at Elmhurst."
