La Plume, Lackawanna Co. — One local college has collaborated with one of their students to help bring their clothing design brand to life and takeover the campus.

FOX56 met the 19 year old designer to find out her meaning behind it all.

"What do the students want, what do the students like? That's kind of where I played a role in this... And I just felt like graffiti... it's more directed towards the younger population," said Angelise Sanchez (Atlanta, Ga./Ocoee), showing off her hoodie which she made with a street-wear style.

Sanchez started designing clothes during the pandemic under the brand YNC Skrilla, which is a nickname of hers and a slang term for money.

The manager of Keystone's Eatery & Market, a gift store on campus, approached Sanchez with the goal of attracting new designs to attract students. The results became a hit amongst students.

"The amount of people that came in and the vibe... anybody who was here that day would tell you the vibe that was here on that was immense, I've never felt anything like that," said Sanchez.

Sanchez is also on the basketball team who supported her design drop.

"We were all here, the whole basketball team showed up, our coach showed up but we're really just here, just ecstatic for her at all times," said Sanchez's friend and teammate Riley Berry (Margate, Fla./Piper).

Sanchez said people have been wearing it to her games and adds her brand name is also a message to inspire others.

"What YNC stands for is Youngest N Charge and like I said, a little bit about that, it don't matter how old you are how tall, how short, what kind of background you come from, if you have a dream you can chase that starting now," said Sanchez.

With the popularity of this project, Sanchez is already looking into future ideas for the next collaboration with Keystone and some projects of her own.
