Sherman Named Head Football Coach at Ferrum

FERRUM, Virginia – Director of Athletics Cleive Adams has announced the hiring of Kevin Sherman as head football coach at Ferrum College. The announcement was made at a press conference this morning on Ferrum's campus.

Sherman comes to Ferrum from the University at Buffalo, where he spent the last two years as wide receivers coach. He helped the Bulls to a 7-6 record, including an appearance and win in the 2022 Camellia Bowl.

Sherman is the ninth head football coach in Ferrum history since the program began in 1955. He succeeds Adams, who served the past four years as head coach before assuming his role as Director of Athletics in December 2023.

Sherman played football four seasons under legendary Coach Hank Norton from 1987-90. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure from Ferrum in 1992. Sherman was Ferrum's 1990 Big Green Award recipient, an award presented annually to a senior football player who best demonstrates the qualities of courage, hustle and desire as a role model for his fellow teammates. Sherman served as the team captain and was team MVP in 1990. He was inducted into Ferrum's Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.
