William Peace University Athletics Announces Cancelation Of Remainder Of 2022-23 Women’s Basketball Season

RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University Athletics has announced the cancelation of the remainder of the 2022-23 women's basketball season in order to protect the health and safety of student-athletes due to low roster numbers.

Interim Athletic Director Claude Shields stated, "The health and safety of our student-athletes, both mentally and physically, is our top priority. After conferring with our Athletic Training staff and Head Coach, we have made the decision to cancel the remainder of our season. Our Women's Basketball team has battled through injuries and adversity this season and we are proud of how they represented WPU in the midst of challenging circumstances."

A senior day to celebrate the seniors in the program will be announced in the coming weeks.
