Furman Athletics Announces Leadership Change in Women’s Lacrosse Program

Former Paladin Farber to Serve as Interim Head Coach in 2024

Greenville, S.C. – Furman Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Donnelly has announced a leadership change within the Paladin women's lacrosse program.

Former Furman midfielder Lauren Farber will serve as the interim head coach for the 2024 season, replacing Kirkland Lewis, who served as head coach for the past two seasons. Farber currently serves as an assistant strength training and conditioning coach for the Paladins.

A native of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Farber was a four-year letterwinner for Furman from 2019-22. A 2022 first team All-Big South selection, she appeared in 50 games throughout her career and registered 27 starts. Farber finished with 61 points on 47 goals and 14 assists. She currently ranks 10th all-time at Furman with 73 draws.

A 2022 team captain, Farber helped the Paladins capture the 2021 Southern Conference regular season championship after finishing 12-5 overall and 4-0 in the league. Furman compiled a 34-25 record during her four seasons while going 15-3 against league opponents.

In her current role with the Paladins, Farber works primarily with the Furman women's golf, women's tennis, and women's lacrosse programs. She is CSCS, TPI Level 1, and TPI Level 2 certified.

A national search for a new coach will take place during the season.

Furman is coming off a 10-8 overall record last season and finished the year having won three of its last four games. The Paladins, who are entering their third season in the Big South Conference, posted a 7-2 league mark and finished tied for second in the conference standings. For the second straight year, Furman advanced to the semifinals of the Big South Women's Lacrosse Championship.
