ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team had a record breaking night on Friday as they began a two-game series with Finlandia University. The Bulldogs came out ready to play coming away with a 19-0 win. Adrian's 19 goals set an NCAA record for most goals in a single game snapping the previous record of 18 set by Manhattanville in 2002 and matched by Utica in 2004.
The Bulldogs led 7-0 after the first period.
Jessica VonRuden began the scoring 19 seconds into the game.
Jocelin Hudanish scored a power play goal followed by a pair of shorthanded goals from VonRuden and
Karmen Anderson.
Reaghan Pietrowski netted a goal to lead 5-0 which was followed by a pair of goals from Anderson to lead 7-0 giving her a hat trick.
In the second period,
Tia Lascelle scored back-to-back goals to lead 9-0.
Une Bjelland scored for Adrian followed by goals from VonRuden and
Annika Hanson to lead 12-0. Hanson's goal marked her first of the season.
In the third period, Hudanish scored her second of the game followed by a second goal from Hanson. VonRuden scored her fourth goal of the game in the third period to lead 15-0 to set a season high for the team.
Allie Hubenschmidt added to the scoring which was backed by goals from Bjelland, Hudanish, and Hanson to lead 19-0.

Annika Hanson, and
Jessica VonRuden all recorded hat tricks on the evening. Pietrowski led the team with four assists.
Gwen Bowler got the start in goal for Adrian facing five total shots and saving them all. Bowler did not see a single shot on goal in the third period.
Maya Roy, Bjelland, VonRuden, and
Emma Corbett all finished +7 which ranks second in program history in plus/minus in a single game. VonRuden recorded seven points for the Bulldogs to ranked second in program history for most points in a single game. Hudanish totaled 12 shots on goal to tie for fifth in program history and Pietrowski's four assists ties for second in a game. The Bulldogs totaled 106 shots on goal in the game which set a program record and breaking the previous record of 81.
On the national level, Adrian's 19 goals set a NCAA record breaking the previous record of 18. Adrian fell one goal short of tying the record for most goals in a period after finishing the first period with seven. The Bulldogs totaled 50 points as a team which set an NCAA record snapping the previous record of 47 set by Utica in 2004. Finally, Adrian's 31 assists tie the NCAA record for most in a game set by Utica in 2004. Unfortunately, no NCAA record is available for most shots on goal in a single game, but one can assume it has been set by Adrian.
The Bulldogs will look to do it all against as they wrap up the two-game series with Finlandia on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM. Saturday is Senior Day. Tomorrow's Senior Day ceremony will begin at 1:30 PM prior to the game's warm ups.
