Scots Name Laskowski Head Volleyball Coach

Interim Tag Erased After One Season; Led Maryville to CCS Title Game

MARYVILLE – Maryville Director of Athletics Sara Quatrocky has removed the interim tag from Brienna Laskowski's title and selected her as head coach of the Scots volleyball program.

Laskowski was named interim head coach just before the 2023 season got underway, and she led the Scots to a tie for second place in the Collegiate Conference of the South regular season standings. Laskowski then guided the Scots into the CCS tournament championship match, where they fell to No. 24-ranked Covenant.

Maryville finished 11-5 in the CCS and 18-17 for the season.

"I am excited for Coach Laskowski to begin her career as the next head coach of the Scots volleyball program," Quatrocky said. "She has proven herself as a great leader and gained a lot of respect from our staff over the past few months.

"She has a student-athlete-centered focus in her approach to coaching, and I've enjoyed watching her grow in the position. She has a lot of great ideas and an energetic passion for how to approach the culture of the volleyball program. I have no doubt our program is headed in the right direction."

Laskowski previously was named a Scots assistant coach in August 2022, helping that Maryville squad to records of 13-3 in league and 22-7 overall, including a spot in the CCS tournament semifinals.

Poise and Leadership on Display
"We were really impressed with the poise and leadership that Coach Laskowski showed through the season, followed by the confidence she had through the interview process," Quatrocky said. "She is a great teammate among our staff, and our campus partners value her authenticity. We look forward to her continued success as a Scot."

Before her arrival, Laskowski was one year removed from completing a stellar career at William Peace in her home state of North Carolina. There, she was a four-year starter and three-year All-USA South First Team selection. During Laskowski's four seasons, the Pacers twice won the USA South's East Division crown, and twice she was named William Peace Female Athlete of the Year.

During her four years at William Peace, Laskowski helped the Pacers post an 81-33 overall record and 47-8 mark in conference play. She wrapped up her playing career with 944 kills, 940 digs, and 128 service aces.

Laskowski then began her coaching career as graduate assistant coach for the 2021 season at Wisconsin Lutheran in Milwaukee. She helped train and implement a high-speed offense, working primarily with setters and hitters.

"First and foremost, I am deeply humbled and honored to be named the next head coach of the Maryville College volleyball program," Laskowski said. "I want to express my gratitude to the administration for entrusting me with this role. Your faith in my vision and passion for the sport fuels my enthusiasm to lead this program to new heights.

"To the athletes, you are the heart and soul of this program. I pledge to invest in your growth, both as players and individuals. Together, we will strive for excellence, pushing boundaries and embracing challenges with resilience and determination.

"To the alumni, families, and fans, you are the backbone of our success. Your unwavering support creates an electrifying atmosphere that inspires greatness. I am excited to be on this journey with you.

"Lastly, to my family, please know that every accolade, milestone, and success I've achieved reflects your unwavering support and belief in me. As I continue to navigate this journey, I carry your love, wisdom, and encouragement in my heart. Thank you for being my pillars of strength and believing in me when I doubted myself. I am blessed beyond measure to have such an incredible family by my side."
